Product Description

Esila Avocado Powder Blend is a powdered mixture of ten botanical ingredients. Avocado is an evergreen tree, and its leaf is the part used in this blend. Other ingredients include corn silk, cherry stalk, licorice root and guelder-rose fruit, representing several different plant parts. The blend comes in a 150 g jar and also contains parsley and black seed. Esila has prepared botanical products in İskenderun, Hatay, for 30 years.

The ingredients, in order, are avocado leaf, corn silk, cherry stalk, yarrow, parsley, licorice root, black seed, couch grass, horsetail and guelder-rose fruit. Licorice root is generally known for its sweet character. Guelder-rose is a shrub that bears small red fruits, which are known for their tart taste. The blend uses leaves from the avocado tree, stalks from cherries and roots from the licorice plant.

Parsley and black seed, both included in this blend, are familiar ingredients in Anatolian cooking. Chopped parsley leaves appear in salads, börek fillings and meze dishes served at the table. The small black seeds of nigella are often scattered over bread, savory pastries and crackers. Parsley is generally known for its green, herbal scent, while black seed has a spicy aroma. In the kitchen, one is recognized by its leafy sprigs, the other by its dark seeds.
