Product Description

Esila Thyme Tea presents thyme as a herbal infusion in a 20 x 2 g pack, totalling 40 g. Thyme is a small-leaved aromatic herb known for its distinct herbal scent. In Anatolian cooking, its dried leaves are used to season food, while steeping thyme as tea is another familiar use of the plant. As a seasoning, thyme appears in vegetable dishes, sauces and savoury baking.

The botanicals for this natural thyme tea are gathered in Hatay and Anatolia. They are dried in the shade, sorted by hand and then packed by hand. The tea contains only dried botanicals, with no flavourings or colourings. Both sorting and packing are manual steps in its preparation. Esila has been preparing herbal products in İskenderun, Hatay, for 30 years, and uses these shade-drying and hand-preparation methods for this tea.

Thyme is an aromatic herb that can be steeped in hot water and served as tea. Read the product label for preparation instructions. For serving, choose a ceramic cup or a tea glass, with savoury crackers or a plain bread roll alongside. Given thyme’s generally pronounced herbal aroma, lightly seasoned accompaniments are one way to arrange the table. Set out a teapot and cups for sharing, or serve your cup on a small tray.
