Yarrow Tea

Yarrow is a perennial plant in the daisy family, recognised by its finely divided leaves and clusters of small flowers. It is used as a dried botanical for herbal infusions and is known in Turkish as civanperçemi. Esila Yarrow Tea presents the plant in dried form, in a pack of 20 x 2 g, totalling 40 g. Yarrow generally has an herbaceous aroma, and its infusion can carry slightly bitter notes rather than a fruity sweetness.

The botanicals for Esila Yarrow Tea are gathered in Hatay and Anatolia. After gathering, the yarrow is dried in the shade, sorted by hand and packed by hand. This natural tea contains only dried botanicals, with no flavourings or colourings. Esila has prepared herbal products in İskenderun, Hatay, for 30 years. For this tea, shade-drying and hands-on sorting and packing are the preparation methods used before the dried yarrow reaches its pack.

Yarrow tea is prepared by steeping the dried botanical in hot water. At home, it can be served from a teapot into porcelain or ceramic cups, with a tray for bringing the tea to the table. Serving it on its own lets you explore yarrow's generally herbaceous, slightly bitter character without other ingredients. A teapot and cup setting works at a shared tea table or on a small side table beside a reading chair.
