As a raw material, tar is generally associated with woody and smoky scent notes. This soap is from Esila, a brand preparing botanical products in Hatay İskenderun for 30 years.
The ingredient list begins with juniper tar, followed by deionized water, olive oil, soap base and salt. Juniper tar and olive oil therefore feature together in this soap. Olive oil is obtained from the fruit of the olive tree and has a history of use in Mediterranean soap making.
