Product Description
Esila Sulfur Soap comes in a 135 g size for the bathroom counter or beside the basin. Sulfur gives the soap its name and appears first in its ingredient list. As a raw material, sulfur is a nonmetallic element generally recognized by its yellow color and solid state at room temperature. It can occur in crystalline form and is also used in soapmaking. Esila has been preparing products, including soaps, in Hatay İskenderun for 30 years.
The ingredient list reads, in order: sulfur, deionized water, olive oil, soap base and salt. Olive oil comes from the fruit of the olive tree and has a place in soapmaking around the Mediterranean as well as in the kitchen. The small, fleshy fruits can turn from green to purple and black as they ripen. In olive-growing regions, soapmaking is one use for this fruit beyond food. In Esila Sulfur Soap, olive oil appears alongside sulfur among the five listed ingredients.
