Product Description

Esila Black Seed Oil is a plant oil obtained from black seeds and offered in a 20 ml pack. The seeds come from Nigella sativa, a plant known for its small, black seeds. In Anatolian cooking, they are often scattered over bread, rolls and savoury pastries. Black seeds generally have a spicy, slightly bitter flavour. These same seeds, also used whole in the kitchen, are the raw material for the oil.

This natural black seed oil is pressed at Esila's own facility in Hatay. The seeds are cold-pressed without heat being applied during pressing. Made from a single plant, the oil is not blended with other plant oils. No preservatives or fragrance are added either. Its additive-free composition contains only black seed oil, with the seeds of that one plant providing all of the oil in the product.

In general culinary use, black seed oil appears in salads and cold dressings. The spicy, slightly bitter character associated with black seeds can be paired with ingredients such as yoghurt, tahini and lemon. Leafy salads, yoghurt dips and sauces served alongside bread are examples of this style of cooking. Tart vinegar or the toasted notes of tahini offer other flavour pairings. Follow the product label when considering culinary use.
