Product Description

Esila Clay Soap takes its name from the clay in its ingredient list and comes in a 135 g size. Clay is a fine-grained earth material known for forming a paste when mixed with water. Used in crafts ranging from ceramics to soapmaking, it appears here alongside olive oil. The soap carries the Esila name, a brand with 30 years of preparing botanical products in Hatay İskenderun.

The ingredients are listed in this order: clay, deionized water, olive oil, soap base and salt. Olive oil therefore joins clay as one of the soap’s five components. Obtained from the fruit of the olive tree, this oil has a place in Mediterranean soapmaking as well as cooking. Its use in soap is also familiar in Anatolian bathing traditions. Here, earth-derived clay and a fruit-derived oil share the same ingredient list.

Lather the soap with water as part of your bathroom routine. Keep it on a soap dish beside the basin or in the shower area. After use, choose a dish that allows excess water to drain rather than leaving the soap standing in water. A ceramic dish and a folded cotton towel make a straightforward basin-side arrangement. In a shared bathroom, separate dishes give each soap its own place.
